Will I look overdone?
You should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert, like Dr. Darin Williams is. Our goal is a natural and long-lasting result. It is important to talk to your aesthetic specialist about the results you want from treatment.
Can I get Botox before a big event?
Yes, there is little to no downtime for Botox and red marks should fade within hours of your treatment.
What is the recovery time and post-care after Botox?
Recovery time is almost immediate! You should be able to resume your normal activity immediately after receiving Botox, however, vigorous rubbing of the treatment areas and facial massages should be avoided for at least 48 hours following treatment. We also recommended that you avoid alcohol, laying down for 4 hours, and strenuous activity (working out) for 24 hours after the procedure.
Is Microneedling safe?
Yes! Vistapen™ is both safe and sanitary. Our sterile micro-needle tips are designed to be disposable and are for a single-use only to prevent cross-contamination.
How does it work?
The needle tip makes contact with the skin, the needles create tiny puncture in the skin’s surface, causing micro-trauma, and inducing an immune response, and subsequently, the creation of new healthy collagen. The punctures also act as micro-channels that carry topical nutrients used during the treatment deep into skin layers for an increased effect. Because the needles oscillate as quickly as they do, the tip of the Vistapen™ easily *glides* across the skin, without catching or causing any dermal tearing.
Where do you treat?
B-New's experienced staff guides you through every treatment, please schedule a consultation to discuss areas of treatment. Vistapen™ delivers over 1.5 million penetrations in a standard treatment, providing superior results. We can even treat difficult areas such as nose, eyes, eyelids and lip surfaces.
How is it performed?
This procedure is designed to lift and support the droopy areas of the brow, cheeks, face and neck and numerous other parts of your body by using very small surgical sutures that are made to be absorbed by the body. Once inserted under the skin, the sutures attach to the fat pads to form a support structure that lifts and repositions the tissues to a vertical and youthful position. These barbed threads act as anchors and lift you skin for up to 16 months after the procedure. The threads are re-absorbable over 4-6 months, but the body’s own collagen formation around the thread maintains the hold while continuing to revitalize the area where threads have been placed.
Once the healing cascade is completed, the thread continues to build scaffolding to allow the skin to maintain the position the patient desires. In many cases, the outcome of a MicroLift will allow the patient to forego treatments such as fillers, Botox, and laser treatments for months without a negative outcome.
Does it hurt?
You will be given a local anesthetic prior to the procedure to minimize pain. Post-procedure, the pain and discomfort varies from patient to patient. When needed, patients can be prescribed an anti-inflammatory to allow for the trauma to subside more rapidly. Some patients will experience the most pain when sleeping in the first 48 hours, and all pain should subside in the first fourteen days.
Is it safe?
When performed in a professional setting by a certified medical professional, like Dr. Williams, the procedure is very safe. Each medical professional is trained with certain benchmarks which must be reached to obtain the manufacturer’s certification. The risks and complications are uncommon and usually easily correctable. In the rare event of a complication, the sutures can be removed or repositioned as needed. Since it is performed under local anesthesia, there are none of the risks associated with general anesthesia.
What kind of care is required after the procedure?
Following the procedure, there are some practical post care instructions that should be followed to avoid dislodging threads from the area where the collagen reaction takes place. This may include, avoidance of forceful facial rubbing (massage), sleeping on the side of your face, excessive mouth opening or opening your mouth extraordinarily wide. Most certified professionals will tell you to also avoid some sporting activities, such as extensive workouts, including running, lifting weights over five pounds. These suggestions are made to enhance the procedure, and shouldn’t negatively affect the procedural outcome.
Will I have to avoid work and activities?
It is personal preference, there may be some minor bruising and/or swelling but there is rarely an issue of returning to work immediately following the procedure; however, it may take a few days for the inflammation to subside.
How long do the results last?
Depending on the patient at the time of the procedure, age, lifestyle practices, and the degree of sagging prior to the procedure as well as, the number of threads inserted by the physician but the basic response based on experience shows the duration varies from one to two years.
What are the possible side effects?
Complications are rare and are easily corrected should the minor ones occur. All of the following complications are treatable and may include inflammation, bruising, skin irregularities, puckering and infection. In some cases, patients may feel some tightness or pulling or may be able to feel the threads. These minor side-effects will resolve in time. Since this technique is entirely reversible, unwanted side effects can be easily corrected. You can always add additional threads if the desired results aren’t achieved, although we recommend waiting several weeks before performing touch up procedures.
Can this procedure be combined with other cosmetic procedures?
MicroLift designed to be a stand-alone procedure. However, it is not uncommon to have this procedure combined with Botox to reduce facial muscle activity, dermal fillers such as Juvéderm, or Biogel to enhance volume, or peels and laser therapy to improve skin texture.
Are the threads permanent?
No, Miracu threads are absorbable and will dissolve over time. It takes between four and six months, depending on the patient, to completely dissolve.
What areas can be treated?
Elevate and re-adjust sagging eyebrows
Adjust asymmetric eyebrows
Reposition mid-face skin
Elevate soft tissue and jowls of the mid and lower face
Smooth and lift while revitalizing premature skin aging
Reposition sagging skin at the knee
Adjust and elevate the skin in the backs of the arms
What type of results will I see?
Most of the desired effects take place immediately. During the time of your consultation your medical professional should demonstrate in a mirror the relative amount of lift that the Miro can achieve.
Can the procedure be adjusted?
Yes! Your doctor can adjust accordingly using additional threads or releasing threads.
Will I still be able to have a conventional face-lift or a brow-lift in the future?
The procedure was designed to delay a surgical solution, the threads re-absorbable nature allows a traditional surgical face-lift or brow-lift procedure when you are ready.
